Our charity work
Education Champions
Financial Wellbeing is what we’re about, which is why we support financial wellbeing in our community as Education Champions Elain and Ruth have been working with Vale of York Academy attending assemblies and ging into classrooms to cover topics for example as expenditure, and how to understand a payslip. These have been well received, and future work is planned in the new school term. Elain and Ruth will also be expanding into other schools in the city.
We want to give back to our community
This is why we have committed 8 hours to each employee every year to support local charity work. Ardent has signed up with local company York Cares which works towards making York a better place. There first session was helping preserve the areas for the Tansy Beetle down by the river Ouse. This falls very much in line with our Social and Environment beliefs and the Ardent Mission Statement which includes: At Ardent our aim is ‘Making a Difference’ by creating real value for our clients, staff and owners. We do this by serving our clients to our best ability, giving time and financial support to our community, and growing our employees by helping them achieve their full potential through an employee engagement programme.
Charity Recommendation Scheme
Last June we set up a ‘Charity Recommendation Scheme’, we make a £50 charitable donation for every initial meeting we have that comes from a client recommendation, and the chosen charity is York Against Cancer. To date we have donated £2,550 to this charity. Click here for further information.
Charity fundraising
As a team we completed a 13.1 mile hike in the Lake District in aid of Leukaemia UK and raised £2,500.
We have also ran a MacMillan coffee morning, where we were able to raise more than £260.
Charity donations
Every year we commit to making a £1,000 donation to a charity that is selected by our clients, via our client survey. Our support to date has been to the following charities:
- Two Ridings Community Foundation
- Citizen Advice York
- York Food Bank
- Dementia Forward
- We’re also proud supporters of the charity ‘Toilet Twinning’ and currently have supported facilities in Malawi, Zambia and Uganda.
